Samt Alternative Art School
The 5th Volume of Samt takes form as Samt Alternative Art School (SAAS); an experimental rethinking of creative methodologies structured around themes of indigenous wisdom and holistic psychological wellness.
SAAS’s pedagogy excavates ancestral mysticism through the somatic system as a mode of resistance and authentic production; combating the colonialist Eurocentric academia, capitalistic frameworks and patriarchal dominance of the historical and contemporary art canon.

In its first iteration SAAS takes form as a virtual multi-module course that explores philosophical perspectives on creative practices against the backdrop of past matriarchal worshipping cultures.
Each module investigates creative practice as a potent portal into mysticism and union with the sacred earth and, in extension, the cosmos.
Through psychosomatic experience, participants learn how to identify and un silence emotional currents that shape their individual human experience and evolve their inner ecology on path to authentic projection and soul centric creativity.

The course will cover two schools of thought: Immersion, conducted by Ragini Nagu as she navigates the cycle of authentic practice, followed by Reflection, conducted by Walid Al Wawi and Sarah Alagroobi where they assist in dismantling and tackling this journey through the critical language of art practice.
Both Immersion and Reflection will observe the creative development of the participants’ creative process in order to arrive at either a final work or thesis statement.
This course is conducted virtualy.

2. Incubation: Language of Soma and Inner Temple.
10 Hours
Through developing a felt sense of how the spinal cord receives, processes and projects stimuli, Initiates are guided to engage with the somatic reality of living in a human body through the lens of being an inner temple. This module further establishes an authentic connection between the three inner wisdom shrines and their corresponding evolutionary cords.
